There are many fun games that can be played at a wedding shower. Long gone are the boring games that everyone dreads playing. With these games, your guests will be sure to have great time!

Ice Breakers

Since many of the guests may not know each other when they arrive, play a game or two to get everyone talking and becoming acquainted. One game that can be played requires the use of listening and memory skills. Begin with the first guest in a circle, and have her tell her name, where she is from, and something about her relationship to the bride or groom. The second guest does the same thing and then repeats the information given by the first guest. The third guest will then give their information, and repeat the information given by the first two guests, and so on until everyone has finished. The end should find everyone in the room much better acquainted. Of course, based on the way stories change as each person tells them, this could really turn out to be quite hilarious.

Don’t Say It

The most commonly spoken words at a wedding shower are wedding and bride. With this game, the guests will have something else to discuss. To play, the host will fill a bowl with clothes pins, popsicle sticks, marbles, or anything else she might have on hand in abundance. Guests will be instructed not to say the words “wedding” or “bride,” with the person who speaks either of those words removing an item from the bowl. At the end of the shower, the guest who has the least amount of items from the bowl will receive a small gift or prize.

Wedding Night Words

While the bride opens each of her gifts, a host or designated guest will have a pad and paper ready to write down the bride’s responses as she opens each gift. After all gifts have been opened, the designated guest will attempt to predict the bride’s wedding night words by reading the list aloud. This particular game is certain to bring howls of laughter from all of the guests.

Q&A

Prior to the start of this game, the bride will write down a series of questions that pertain to her. None of the questions has to be difficult and can be as simple as her favorite food, favorite color, and the color of towels in her bathroom, things of that nature. Each guest is given a piece of paper and a pen, and as the bride reads her questions, the guests will write down the answers. The guest who has the most correct answers will be given a small prize or gift.

Toilet Paper Dress

This is noted to be one of the favorite wedding shower games. Guests are divided into several teams. Each team is given from four to six rolls of white toilet paper, and a timer is set for twenty minutes. During that time, each team will choose one person as a model and use the toilet paper to design a wedding dress. After the time has elapsed, the guests will vote on their favorite design. The winners will receive a gift or a prize.
