If you are looking for the perfect wedding dress, it is important to consider your body type in order to pick the dress that is most flattering to your figure.  After all, you want to look as beautiful as you possibly can on your special day!  Here are some quick tips to keep in mind when matching your body type to the perfect dress.

Full Figured Brides

Full figured brides can slim down their look with the help of a princess style gown.  A gown with n A-line skirt is always a good choice, as is one with a V-shaped neckline.  In addition, it is best to avoid wearing contrasting colors.

Pear Shaped Brides

If you have a pear shaped body, you will want to accentuate the bodice area.  You can do this with the help of a gown that features textured fabric paired with a simple skirt.  This way, your guests’ eyes will be draw away from your waist and more toward the top half of your body.

Top Heavy Brides

If you are top heavy, you don’t want to draw extra attention to your larger half.  In order to even out your body and create a more balanced look, select a wedding dress with a full, billowing skirt.  This way, your wedding guests will see the whole you rather than just what you have above the waist.

Short Brides

If you are on the shorter side, you can give yourself a longer look with a gown that has a high neckline and an empire waistline. Choosing a gown with a lot of trim on the upper body will also help you appear taller, while a gown with shorter sleeves paired with long gloves will also help make you appear taller.

Tall Brides

For taller brides, you can balance out your height with the help of bodices and low necklines.  Tiers and flounces will also help reduce the effect of your height.

Thin Brides

If you have a thin body, you can create a fuller look with the help of a gathered skirt and a bloused bodice.  Full skirted gowns and princess style gowns are both good choices.
