There are many things for you to consider when planning for your wedding, but one of the details that will provide you with the greatest opportunity to show off your sense of style is your wedding gown.  Today’s brides are no longer settling for the “cookie cutter” wedding dress designs that were once so popular.  As such, you will definitely want to take some time to select the wedding dress that is perfect for you.

The Winter Dress

A growing number of brides are deciding to forego the spring wedding for the winter wedding.  Not only does this provide exciting opportunities for great décor, it also offers a new slant on wedding gown selection.  If you are planning a winter wedding, you might want to consider keeping these trends in mind:

· Choose a colored dress that will stand in contrast against the white winter background, such as one that is deep red or one that has a lot of black
· Include fur or faux fur colors or coats in your wedding ensemble
· Wear a dress with long sleeves, gloves or other adornments to help keep you warm

The Summer Dress

If you are planning a summer wedding, on the other hand, you will certainly want to select a lighter dress that will help you stay cool.  Again, might also want to bypass the white wedding dress and select one in a color that is suitable to the season, such as one that is yellow, lilac, blue or pink.  If you still want white in your dress, consider having just the bodice or skirt colored rather than the entire dress.

Regardless of the color you select, be certain to select a dress that really speaks to you and makes you look beautiful on your special day!
