As the brushing bride-to-be, you certainly want to have a wedding that is perfect down to every last detail.  Still, when it comes to your bridesmaid’s dresses, you need to keep in mind that your bridesmaids are your friends and you want to find dresses that help them look good too.  Therefore, when selecting the dresses for your bridesmaids, be certain to keep a few things in mind.

One of the first things you need to consider is the way your bridesmaids look.  More than likely, they all look quite different.  So, when choosing the dress style and color, consider the color of their hair, the type of figures they have, and their complexions.  This way, you can select a color and design that helps them look good.  If your bridesmaids are very different in appearance, you might want to consider allowing them to wear dresses that are of slightly different styles or colors.  With careful planning, these differences can work out  nicely with your wedding theme.

Of course, you also want your bridesmaids to be comfortable.  Remember, they will be in their dresses throughout the entire ceremony and reception, just as you will be in your bridal gown.  Try to choose dresses that are not too tight or restrictive as well as those with a breathable fabric that will help them avoid overheating.

You should also consider the cost of the dresses you are choosing.  Unless you plan on purchasing the dresses for your bridesmaids, you don’t want to select dresses that are going to put a real pinch on their pocketbooks.  In fact, you should probably discuss budgets with your bridesmaids before you choose the dresses.  This way, you will have a better idea of which dresses to select from.

Finally, be certain to include your bridesmaids in the dress selection process.  The more input they are able to provide, the more likely you will be to find dresses that everyone will love!
