Having a wedding can be a very costly affair.  If you want to have an unforgettable wedding but you want to avoid breaking the break, you might want to try a few money saving tips.

One way to save money is to purchase thermographed invitations rather than engraved invitations because thermographed invitations generally cost about 50-70 cents less.  Another option is to make your own invitations with the help of special invitation software.  Of course, purchasing your invitations online can help you save a bundle as well.

You can also save money with your invitations by limiting the number of enclosures you include.  If you keep the total weight below the one-ounce maximum, you will be able to avoid paying extra for postage.  Also keep in mind that envelopes that are oddly shaped can cost you more to mail, so select your invitations and envelopes carefully.

If you do a little shopping around, you can also save a significant amount of money on your wedding dress.  Check out the discount rack at the bridal shops.  Remember, a discounted dress is not necessarily a bad dress.  Shopping online can also save you some money.  Or, depending upon the type of wedding you are having, you might be able to get away with wearing a prom dress for your wedding dress.  If you check out the selection right after prom season ends, you may be able to find a really great price.  You should also keep in mind that some states don’t tax clothes as much as others.  Therefore, depending upon the tax laws in your state and in your neighboring states, it may be worth your while to take a little drive to save yourself from paying taxes on your purchase.

To save money on flowers, try sticking to those flowers that are in season the month of your wedding.  Also, don’t be afraid to take full advantage of greenery in your bouquets.  By adding more greenery, you can achieve a more natural look while saving on the cost of flowers.  In addition, you might want to consider having a smaller bouquet.  Not only will this help you save, it will also help draw more attention to your gown.
