Beach weddings are becoming increasingly popular among couples wishing to get married in a way that reflects their own unique personality.  In fact, many couples are choosing to have weddings that are more relaxed and a little less traditional.  With the beautiful backdrop of a beach, trading in the church for a sandy beach with amazing views of the water is a simple choice for many couples.

In addition to the overall beauty of a beach wedding, there are many benefits to saying “No” to tradition and going outside to exchange vows.  First of all, beach weddings are generally less expensive than traditional weddings.  After all, who needs to order a bunch of flowers and other décor when you have the natural beauty of the beach to surround you?  In addition, you can have a less formal reception, such as a pig roast, and save a great deal of money in this area as well.  Of course, by taking a more laid back approach to your wedding, a beach wedding can also be far less stressful to plan.

When having a beach wedding, on the other hand, you can still set the type of mood you desire.  With some candles and tiki torches, for example, you can still set an elegant and romantic mood.  If you just want to have fun, on the other hand, you can have a beach party themed wedding and really have a good time with your friends and family.

You can also incorporate a theme into your beach wedding.  Some popular choices are:

· Weddings themed after a particular destination, such as Hawaii, the Caribbean, the Mexican Riviera, or Jamaica
· A western beach wedding at which the couple rides off together into the sunset on horseback
· A nautical wedding with decorations such as anchors and nets, after which the couple sails off together (or perhaps even exchanges vows on a ship)
· An “Under the Sea” them with décor including sea creatures such as starfish and dolphins

There are many possibilities when having a beach wedding and there are numerous locations around the country where you can travel if there isn’t a beach near you.  Or, if you don’t have any beaches nearby, you might want to simply bring the beach to you with the right decorations and a little creativity.
