Are you looking for a new and interesting place to have your wedding? If you are looking to have a destination wedding and want to do something that is a bit different, you might want to consider having your wedding in Kents Cavern in Torquay, Devon in the UK.
Apparently, the cavern just received its marriage license, providing it with permission to host weddings in the caves. This is pretty exciting to anyone that is interested in history or in cavern formations, as the caves are the oldest scheduled Ancient Monument in Britain and received English Heritage designation back in 1957.

The caverns themselves are more than 500,000 years old and has been the site of many exciting discoveries. In fact, many historians believed that the first humans lived in the area, along with bears, saber-toothed cats, woolly mammoths, and hyenas. At one point, a piece of a Neanderthal’s jawbone was found in one of the caves within the system.
The area surrounding the actual caverns is also of historical and scientific significance. The woodlands and hillside around the caverns have been designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest.
If you are interested in a booking a wedding at the caverns, you can choose any one of the four caves within the system. The largest of these four caves is able to accommodate 80 guests, so you won’t be able to have a huge ceremony in any of the caverns. When planning a destination wedding, however, you generally don’t plan for a particularly large guest list.
