Are you planning to have your wedding on the beautiful islands of Hawaii?  If so, you are certain to have an amazing wedding to remember.  At the same time, planning a wedding from afar can be a bit frustrating.  By keeping these simple tips in mind, however, you can make the planning go far more smoothly and you will have the incredible wedding you have been dreaming of having.

Tip #1:  Pick the Right Location

No matter where you go in Hawaii, you will be surrounded by beauty.  Still, some couples prefer a sandy beach with an ocean backdrop while others may prefer the mountains.  Do some research about the islands of Hawaii and decide which is right for you, as each island has its own personality. 

Tip #2:  Look for Help

Since you probably are not familiar with Hawaii and because you are planning from hundreds of miles away, you might want to consider hiring a wedding planner to help you with the task.  If you are planning to stay at a resort, the resort may have a wedding planner on staff or may even offer a resort package.  Or, you can look for a local planner in Hawaii that specializes in helping brides planning destination weddings. 

Tip #3:  Plan According to Budget

Obviously, you need to stick to your budget regardless of where your wedding will be taking lace.  When it comes to having a wedding in Hawaii, however, there are special considerations for you to think about.  For example, your wedding guests will also have to travel in order to attend your wedding.  Do you plan to pay for your guests to attend?  If so, you might want to keep the wedding relatively small.  If not, don’t be surprised if many of your invitees cannot afford to attend.

Tip #4:  Arrive a Few Days Early

It is a good idea to arrive a few days early so you can make certain everything is as you planned.  In addition, you have to arrive a few days early in order to get your marriage license.  While there are no waiting periods or blood tests, you do have to apply for the license in person and you have to apply on a weekday.
