While catering companies will generally provide you with dinnerware and glassware for your reception, you may not want to use the items that they provide because they do not match your wedding theme.  Or, you may be concerned about what might happen if any of the dinnerware or glassware becomes damaged.  Therefore, there are a few things you should keep in mind in order to be certain you have the glassware and dinnerware you need for your reception.

Working with Your Caterer

In order to be certain you have the glassware and dinnerware you want for your wedding, you should first discuss your options with your caterer.  In many cases, caterers will have a variety of different glassware and dinnerware options for you to select from.  By browsing through the options the caterer has available, you can select a pattern and color that matches your theme or helps bring out your theme even more.

Renting Glassware and Dinnerware

If your caterer does not have the glassware or dinnerware that you would like to have for your wedding reception, ask the caterer to provide you the contact information for other caterers or companies that may be willing to rent you a different pattern.  Although this may add to the cost of your wedding reception, the extra cost may be worth it to you in order to be certain every detail of your wedding reception is absolutely perfect.  If you do rent your glassware and dinnerware from a different company, be certain to rent extra pieces.  This way, if any of the pieces are accidentally broken, you will have the extras you need to be certain all of your guests are properly served at your reception.
