When it comes to planning your wedding budget, one of the most difficult parts of the planning is knowing how much money you should set aside for certain parts of the wedding. After all, unless you have planned a wedding or other special event in the past, you aren’t likely to know how much it costs to hire a DJ or to have a cake made for your special day. The same is true when it comes to planning to cover the cost of flowers.
The reality is that you can easily spend anywhere from $400 to $5,000 or even more on flowers used in your wedding and at your reception. Therefore, you will need to take a closer look at your personal budget in order to determine how much you can afford. For the most part, however, you can use these figures as a general guideline of how much different aspects will cost:
· Bridal Bouquet - $50 to $200
· Bouquets for the Bridesmaids - $20 to $50 each
· Bouquet for the Flower Girl (or Petals) - $20 to $35
· Corsages and Boutonnières - $8 to $30 each
· Floral Hair Pins and Head Wreaths - $15 to $40 each
· Flowers for the Church Altar - $50 to $75 each
· Flowers for the Pew - $10 to $40 each
· Centerpieces for the Reception - $40 to $150 each
· Bouquet for the Reception (to be tossed) - $20 to $50
· Floral Cake Topper - $30 to $100
Keep in mind that your cost will go up if you choose to use flowers that are out of season or if you wish to use flowers of an unusual or rare color. Similarly, the size of your floral arrangements will have a significant effect on the cost, as will the amount of detail that is put into the arrangement. Therefore, you can save money by ordering flowers that are more common and by choosing colors that are more readily available. Furthermore, don’t wait until the last minute to order your flowers, as this may result in a rush fee being added to your cost.
