When planning your wedding ensemble, picking out the perfect jewelry is almost as important as choosing the right dress.  There are many things to consider when selecting the jewelry that you will wear on your wedding day, and the style and design of your dress has a great deal to do with the type of jewelry you should select.

The Cut of the Dress

The cut of the dress is an important factor when considering the jewelry you will select.  If you are wearing a sleeveless dress, for example, you will have a greater amount of space on your chest for a necklace.  In this case, you might want to wear a larger necklace that will draw more attention to that area.  If you are wearing a halter-cut dress, on the other hand, a simpler single-strand necklace may be a better option or you may even want to consider skipping the necklace and wearing only earrings and a bracelet.

The Style of the Dress

The style of the dress is also an important consideration.  If your dress has large patterns or has numerous pearls and sequins, or example, simple jewelry is your best option.  In addition, you should select jewelry that matches the type of décor on your dress.  A simple single or double pearl necklace or Swarovski crystal may be good choices.

If you have a simple dress, on the other hand, you may want to jazz up the look with jewelry that is more elaborate.  Again, you want to make certain the jewelry matches the dress style.  Regardless of the style of jewelry you select, you should also make sure it matches.  While you don’t necessarily have to purchase a set, be certain to look at the colors, stones and basic shapes of each piece in order to make certain they all match.
