Glamour magazine recently conducted an online survey regarding the biggest wedding dos and don’ts, and the results are actually quite interesting.

According to the survey, one of the biggest don’ts is for the wedding couple to ask for cash rather than gifts.  Another don’t was blowing your budget on the details that your wedding guests won’t really remember after the wedding.  On the other hand, the results of the survey suggest that you do save money by purchasing a white bridesmaid’s dress for your wedding dress and to skip spending thousands of dollars on flowers.  Rather, the poll suggests purchasing a few flowers and spreading them across the tables along with a few candles.

Another don’t is forcing your bridesmaids to all wear the exact same thing.  While having the bridesmaids wear the same dress is still acceptable, the survey indicates that the bridesmaids should be able to wear their choice of shoes and jewelry and should be free to do their hair as they please.

The survey also suggests avoid drinking too much on your wedding day.  Wedding guests will likely bring you champagne throughout the night.  Take just a sip, but don’t overdo it.  After all, you will want to be able to remember this special day!  Similarly, in order to create great photo memories, try to look as much like yourself as possible.  If you don’t normally wear a great deal of makeup, for example, don’t change this on your wedding day.  Otherwise, you will be disappointed when you look back at your wedding photos.

Another “do” is to keep your wedding dress on for as long as possible.  There is something magical about wearing your wedding dress, and taking it off somehow puts an end to the magic.  So, wear it as long as possible and have a great time on your special day!
