More than likely, your wedding guests will come bearing gifts for you on your big day.  Therefore, you need to set up a gift table and take steps to make certain your gift table fits seamlessly into your special day.

Selecting a Spot for the Gifts

The first thing you need to do is determine where you will set up your gift table.  The best place to put your gift table is in a corner within the reception hall that is far away from any exits.  Many couples choose to place the gift table near to the DJ or by the band.  This way, your gifts are less likely to be taken by an unscrupulous guest.

Finding Someone to Direct Traffic

It is also a good idea to select someone to greet your guests and direct them toward the gift table.  This person doesn’t have to act as a look out to protect your gifts.  Rather, he or she should stay near the gift table at the beginning of the reception in order to help people find where they need to drop off their gifts.

Providing Options to Your Guests

In order to make things simple for your guests and to help you stay better organized, you might also want to offer a few different options for your guests.  For example, your gift table can include a basket or a box in which your guests can drop off cards containing money, gift certificates or other gifts.  A simple decorated box can do the trick, just be certain it has a slot that makes it easy to insert the cards.
