If you are trying to pull off a memorable wedding reception while also keeping it simple and within your budget, there are a few things you will need to keep in mind.

First of all, the location is perhaps the single most important aspect of your wedding reception. After all, where you choose to have your reception will set the tone for the rest of your special event. If you rent out a hall in an club with a view overlooking the city or the lake, for example, you will have much different mood than if you rent out a hall without a spectacular view. While a room with a view isn’t necessarily a must, you will certainly want to do as much as you can to capitalize on that view if you decide on a location that has a great one.

The location you select will also determine the extent of the decorating you will need to do. If you choose to have your reception in a room with a view or if you decide to have your reception in a garden or art museum, for example, you won’t have to worry too much about decorating because the space will already be beautiful to look at. While you might have to spend a little extra to rent one of these spaces, you can save both money and time when you don’t have to purchase decorations.

Above all, your wedding reception should be a reflection of who you are your spouse-to-be are. Therefore, if you are a laid-back couple, you will want to put together a laid-back wedding reception. Remember, there is nothing that says your reception has to over the top. After all, it is simply supposed to be a time for you and your family and friends to celebrate your special day. If you want to have your reception on a beach, in your backyard or at a park, the choice is yours. And, by keeping it simple, you can reduce the stress of planning for your wedding and you just might be able to enjoy your special day even more!
