Losing someone that you care about is a difficult time to face in anyone’s life.  When it comes to celebrating special moments in your life, such as your wedding day, feelings of loss can become even more difficult to cope with.  If you are looking for a way to include someone you love in your special day, however, you might want to consider including a memorial candle ceremony in your wedding plans.

There are several different ways that you can include a memorial candle ceremony in your wedding celebration, though the basic concept is always the same:  a personalized memorial candle is used to represent the person you have lost.  In this way, that person can participate in your ceremony in a special way.

One way to have a memorial candle ceremony is to place the candle on a table that is located near the altar.  At the start of the ceremony, someone can say a few special words about that person and the bride and groom can then light the candle together.  Another option is to use a candelabra during the ceremony and to have a family member light a candle to represent each of the relatives that is not present.

When it comes to getting the candleholder, whether for a single candle or candelabra, there are many different styles and colors to select from.  You can even get candles that are personalized as well as holders that are inscribed with a special message about the loved one that has passed away.  With so many options to select from, it should be easy to find one to fit your wedding theme and colors.  In addition, since candles are frequently included as part of wedding ceremonies, including a memorial candle ceremony should not appear to be out of place to any of your wedding guests.  Furthermore, the bride and the groom can ask the officiant to explain the action while they are lighting the candles during the ceremony.
