Are you planning a 2008 wedding? If so, you will be interested in knowing more about the trends that are developing for this season so you can make sure to have the wedding of your dreams.

When it comes to wedding cakes, the traditional white cake with round tiers is always a favorite. Bridal toppers, staircases, fountains, and silk flowers, however, are not trendy for 2008. Rather, molded decorations are in. In addition, you can update your wedding ceremony with square or hexagonal tiers, sparkles, fresh fruit, and even chocolate frosting rather than white.

Vintage dresses are in for 2008, as are dresses with lots of lace. Dresses with high collars, ball gowns, asymmetrical necklines and detachable trains are out, but traditional strapless dresses and A-line styles are always in.

With flowers, you can never go wrong with white or off-white roses. Marguerite daisies that are yellow-and-blue tinted are out, while bright hydrangeas and pink, orange, and green tulips are more timely. When it comes to trendy, however, you will want to check into gardenias and stephanotis.

Of course, no wedding is complete without favors. Picture frames and monogrammed candles are out, while gift boxes filled with chocolates and candy are always great. If you want something a little more timely, you might want to check into fortune cookies that have been hand-dipped in Belgian chocolate or you can be trendy by placing blooming flowers on the tops of your gift boxes and including a seed ribbon inside.
